Assessment Tool to Determine the Ethical Behavior of Organizations

In 1994, the Caux Round Table published the "Principles for Business", which aims to express a world standard against which business behavior can be measured. These "Principles for Business" provide a unique document that has been drafted by business people from the US, Europe and Asia in order to provide a global and independent set of ideas of what they considered to be good business ethics.

Within the JRT, the idea was born to develop a practical assessment tool to support the implementation of the "Principles for Business". So in 1996 a project was started within the JRT to study the feasibility and make a draft of this tool. The underlying idea of the tool is that the implementation of the "Principles for Business" could happen in a similar way as the implementation of "Total Quality Management" (TQM) within organizations.

The "Assessment Tool to Determine the Ethical Behavior of Organizations" was completed in 1997.  Click here for the document containing the tool (164 Kb).  The document is in portable document format (.pdf) which requires Adobe Reader.  For a printed copy, please contact us.
